I joined the beginners programme not knowing what to expect. The pacing was thoughtful — nothing felt rushed, and the workbook exercises actually made me think about my own situation rather than just listening to concepts. By week three, I had a real picture of my spending for the first time.

The Informed Investing programme gave me a framework I didn't have before. I'd read articles about investing for years but never felt I understood the logic behind diversification or how to read a prospectus properly. The simulation access during the course was genuinely useful — not a gimmick.

My husband and I attended the Structured Financial Planning programme together. Having the individual sessions was what made the difference — we came out with a plan that actually reflects our situation, not a generic template. The group sessions were solid but those private meetings gave us the specificity we needed.

Even with a finance background, I found the Structured Planning programme useful. The focus on CPF strategy and how it interacts with the rest of a financial plan wasn't something I'd worked through methodically before. The facilitators were careful not to talk down to participants who already had some knowledge.

I attended the beginners programme last year and came back for Informed Investing this year. The progression between the two made sense — I wasn't repeating ground I'd already covered. The group was engaged and the discussions were one of the most useful parts. Would do Level 03 if my schedule allows.

I'd been to other seminars where the presenter was essentially doing a sales pitch for their firm's products. Ironbloom is different — there was nothing for sale in the room. The focus was entirely on helping participants understand, which made the whole experience feel considerably more trustworthy.

Detailed participant journeys.

Challenge

A couple in their late thirties had been putting off financial planning for years. Both were earning well but had no shared framework for making decisions — separate accounts, no discussion of retirement, and anxiety around insurance adequacy.

Solution

They enrolled together in the Structured Financial Planning programme. The group sessions gave them a shared vocabulary and context. The three private advisory meetings allowed them to address their specific CPF positions, coverage gaps, and long-term priorities together with a facilitator.

Outcome

By the end of the programme, they had a written financial roadmap covering the next 25 years, identified two coverage gaps to address, and had a clear shared picture of their retirement projections. The annual review session one year later confirmed they had followed through on the key actions.

"For the first time we were actually in the same conversation about money. That's not a small thing after ten years of marriage."

Challenge

A mid-career professional in his forties had accumulated some savings but felt uncertain about what to do with them. He had received conflicting advice from two different financial advisers and wanted to develop his own understanding rather than delegate the decision entirely.

Solution

He completed both the Informed Investing programme and then the Structured Financial Planning programme over two consecutive intakes. The first gave him the analytical tools to evaluate investment options himself. The second helped him coordinate those investments into a broader retirement-focused plan.

Outcome

He completed the two programmes with a draft investment policy statement and a documented financial plan. He noted that the most valuable outcome was not a specific decision made but the confidence to evaluate options and ask the right questions of his advisers going forward.

"I didn't want someone to manage my money. I wanted to be able to understand what was happening to it. These programmes gave me that."
